Below the Yard Maps we provide a guideline to make your experience at Nevada Pic A Part a smooth one.
Plan Your Day to Pull Parts
Junkyards are great places to find inexpensive parts to repair your vehicle. Before heading out to our yard in Nevada, you may want to consider the following:
Check On Your Vehicle’s Availability
Go to Self Service: Do It Yourself to find out if the vehicle you need to pull parts from is at our Nevada junkyards or call us at (702) 565-1414 to have us help. With inventory arriving daily, a vehicle that wasn’t available one day can be available the next. Also, giving us a call our knowledgeable staff can direct you to similar parts that are on a different make or model with our Parts Interchange service. Checking the Self Service page or calling us first can save you a trip.
Make a List of Parts You Need
Making a list can help you stay focused on the parts you need to pick and pull. Using the Car Pricing List and Truck Pricing List available for your convenience, you can be informed on how much the parts you need will cost you. That way there won’t be any surprises when you go to pay for them. The list should include small and large parts, which you can cross off as you pull the parts. If everything on the list wasn’t found at our junkyard that day, you’ll have the remaining items that you can get on your next trip.
Study How to Remove Parts
Not everyone is mechanically incline, or if they are, they might not be familiar with removing certain parts. As much as we would love to help you with instructions on how to remove parts, we cannot provide that service. Researching online at sites like YouTube can be valuable in showing you the tricks and shortcuts at removing parts. This will help reduce the stress of removing parts, especially hard-to-reach and difficult ones. You could even access the instructions through your smartphone if you get stumped while at our junkyard.
Bring the Tools You Need
We do not provide any tools because it is difficult to keep track of them. However we do provide hoists to remove engines and carts to transport the parts you pull so you can purchase them. For tools you need to pull parts with, you can also research that online. If you have a toolbox, it might be a good idea to bring it just in case you see a part you could use, but be aware that anything you bring onto the yard is subject to search. Security will also search toolboxes as you exit, so be sure that your toolbox is free of clutter and trash parts to eliminate any confusion of what was is yours and what was recently pulled.
Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and greasy. Also bring gloves to protect your hands from cuts and bruises and from parts that get hot from being in the sun all day. Do not wear open toed shoes; you will not be allowed onto the property with them on. If possible wear steel toed shoes for protection against parts that accidentally are dropped or fall. Eye protection can provide extra protection especially if you know you will be working under the vehicle to remove parts. .
